For nearly 30 years, ‘crawlers’ – starting with solid-axle monster trucks and other ‘donor’ vehicles – have been growing in popularity in the RC community. Ready-made competition level kits have been available for many years, however, there hasn’t been a recognized European Championship for this beloved and still growing category of competition!
At the 2022 EFRA Annual General Meeting, Federation members from across Europe voted to bring in a new Electric Sub-Section, specifically for RC Crawler drivers. And now, EFRA needs a new Section Vice Chairman to take the lead for the next stage of European Championships!
Crawling has become extremely popular in the past decade, and countries across Europe have hosted major weekend events bringing together hundreds of crawler enthusiasts. EFRA is looking for a responsible and experienced organiser of model events to lead the charge!
Most RC crawler competition rules are based on rules developed in the US and expanded over the past several years to encompass varying styles of off-road vehicles.
While it’s easy to call crawlers ‘slow’, once attempted it’s clear that it’s more competitive than most track racers will think – while simultaneously being more relaxed once one is out on the course!
