This past weekend the JConcepts Team headed to New Albany, Indiana to Hoosier RC Hobbyplex for the Fall INS12 Indoor National Series Round #4. This event was the largest INS event in the last 4 years if not the largest 1/10th scale race in that time period. Racers flocked to the new and improved facility to battle it out with the best of the best. When all was said and done 395 entries attacked the track and the event ran smoothly with racers able to enjoy dinner and relax each night.

For those who have never attended Hoosier RC Hobbyplex, you should definitely put it on your bucket list. We attended last year approximately a year ago for the INS Fall Nationals in 2021. Just in 365 days, the track was extended, the hobby shop size was doubled, the dirt oval track was resurfaced, pit space was added, and all the bits and pieces in between were improved.

Due to the size of the event, event management opted to skip seeding and start qualifying on Friday night to keep the days manageable. After the very small amount of dust settled on the sealed surface, the following JConcepts drivers were dominating the classes. In modified it was the Dakotah Phend show with Dakotah taking TQ in all 6 qualifiers in 2wd and 4wd modified. Rinderknecht, Moran, and Vanderbeek backed him up with TQ’s Expert Stock 2wd, Expert Stock 4wd, and 13.5 SC.

2wd Modified Buggy: 1st Dakotah Phend, 3rd Ryan Maifield
4wd Modified Buggy: 1st Dakotah Phend, 2nd Ryan Maifield, 3rd Broc Champlin
17.5 Expert 2wd Buggy: 1st Tom Rinderkencht, 2nd Davey Batta
13.5 Expert 4wd Buggy: 1st Sammy Moran, 3rd Tyler Hooks
40+ 2wd Buggy: 2nd Alex Sturgeon
13.5 SC: 1st Mack Vanderbeek, 2nd Kyle Munson, 3rd Brenden Edwards
13.5 Stadium Truck: 3rd Emerson Sturgeon

Dakotah Phend continued with the dominance in 2wd modified taking the win after 2 mains. He did make an uncharacteristic mistake in A2 of 4wd but was able to rebound to take the A3 win to match his A1 win. Ryan Maifield would finish up 2nd in 4wd modified after some tough battles with Phend and Ty Tessmann. Ty mounted a couple of charges against Phend in 2wd modified but ultimately settled for second with Spencer Rivkin finishing up 3rd after bumping up from the B-Main.

Sammy Moran put on a clinic in 13.5 Expert 4wd to take the win after 2 mains. Tom Rinderknecht and Davey Batta battled it out in 17.5 Expert 2wd with Davey ultimately coming out on top. Congratulations to all the racers and winners on fantastic results.
